Yours to Discover, Earn, and Learn: Ontario International Student Experiences in Postsecondary Work & Study

In 2024-25, Medow Consulting developed a report in partnership with The Dais, "Yours to Discover, Earn, and Learn," which looked at the experiences of international students navigating work and study during a period of significant policy change. 

Building on a series of focus groups with current and recently graduated international students, it highlighted that the promise of Canada’s world-class education system, isn’t being delivered on for many international students – particularly as they transition from school to work. 

Work-integrated learning opportunities such as co-ops and internships provide students with an important bridge to the labour market, but international students often face unique challenges and barriers to access which can impact the ability of international students to fully leverage their post-secondary education into quality employment.
