Ontario Building & Construction Tradeswomen (OBCT) 2025 Recruitment and Retention Research Initiative

This project included a survey of Ontario tradeswomen with nearly 350 respondents, interviews with employers and industry partners, and a review of relevant literature.

The final report highlights five key findings and 16 recommendations to better support women to enter and stay in the construction trades in Ontario.

As this work underscores, increasing recruitment and retention of women who currently make up 5% of the "on the tools" workforce will be critical to meeting growing construction labour demand.
