Results from the Inaugeral Indigenous Institutes Graduate Survey (2024)

In 2024, Medow Consulting supported the Indigenous Institutes Consortium (IIC) to develop and implement the inaugural Graduate Survey for the Indigenous Institutes sector in Ontario.

This groundbreaking survey explores the experiences of graduates from seven Indigenous Institutes, revealing the transformative impact of Indigenous-led post-secondary education. Key findings include:

  • 86% of graduates surveyed rated their overall experience at an Indigenous Institute as 'good' or 'excellent'

  • 82% of graduates surveyed reported being employed or self-employed after completing their program

  • 91% of graduates surveyed agreed or strongly agreed that their knowledge of Indigenous ways of knowing and being increased through their program

This first-of-its-kind survey provides critical perspectives on the impact of Indigenous Institutes that go beyond the data typically collected through college and university graduate surveys in the Ontario post-secondary education system.
